Participation in National and International Events as Speaker, Lecturer or Surgeon (Live Surgeries)

In 1996, Dr. Bárbara Machado began pioneering work with laser peeling, which was presented as part of her admission as a Titular Member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) and Titular Member of the Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery.

She regularly participates in national and international congresses, conferences, and symposia (including in the United States, Argentina, Austria, Peru, Russia, Czech Republic, Mexico, Italy, and Monaco), where she delivers lectures on various topics related to Plastic Surgery, with a main focus on Facial Rejuvenation (facelift), CO₂ Laser Peeling, Plastic Surgery in Ex-Obese Patients, Breast Implants, Rhinoplasty, Liposuction (including arms and legs), Fillers, and Botulinum Toxin.

She also performs live surgeries and edited video presentations at Plastic Surgery congresses, which has taken her to countries such as Tunisia and Russia. In 2014, she taught a course in Argentina with live surgeries (facelift and rhinoplasty) as well as lectures on mammoplasty, breast implant placement, periorbital rejuvenation, and facial surgery for more than 200 Latin American surgeons.

In October 2014, together with colleague Dr. Paulo Müller, she organized the 1st “Faces in Rio” Symposium, bringing together renowned colleagues and hosting 300 plastic surgeons at the Copacabana Palace for a full day of immersion and learning focused on Facelifting and facial rejuvenation surgery. She has also conducted workshops for the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery and the Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery. She planned and coordinated two symposia for the Association of Former Students of Professor Pitanguy (AExPi) on breast implants and fillers. During her term as President of AExPi, she organized the Meeting of Professor Ivo Pitanguy’s Former Students — two days of intense scientific exchange among renowned plastic surgeons from all over Brazil and a leading expert in facial and nasal reconstruction from the United States.
